National Economic Opportunity Fund
The basic premise of the National Economic Opportunity Fund (“NEOF”)is that entrepreneurial effort, perspective, and passion of Veterans,in true partnership with communities, will accelerate job creation and regional community economic development.
The NEOF strategy is to provide a Veteran driven small business incubation platform that includes a replicable call center business and various environmental, internet and medical service businesses. NEOF is an program of the National Veterans Business Development Corporation (“The Veterans Corporation”(“TCV”)) which developed grants of $1,000,000 in 2009 to support the NEOF platform, including $300,000 of capital for Prevail Health Services, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business which will test internet protocols at the Veterans Administration for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Prevail grant was awarded to TVC by Major League Baseball and the McCormick Foundation.
Advisors to NEOF include:
Apolonio Flores - Housing Expert
William C. Kelly, Jr. - Stewards for Affordable Housing for the Future
Jack Jacobs - Medal of Honor Recipient

NEOF intends to develop a series of Veteran sponsored regional call centers around the United States beginning in 2010. Interested communities can inquire at 901-301-3085.

Hello Sergio,
you have an idea and I'm sure you have passion, but what you need right now is planning and preperation. To start a good business it starts with a business plan. You can get many business plan templates online for free and if you can't find one let me know. Another important factor is if you need financing for your business and if your credit is bad it will stop you from getting the credit you need. This does not need to stop you because for under $100 you can start a website and set up a shopping cart but you need to market yourself as well. Needy families may not have computer access so making your company virtual may not make sense. again you need to come up with a plan. There are many online courses available for free to teach you how to start a small business. Take a look at our training page which lists free trainings. There are also resources at your local Small Business Resource Center (SBDC) and through Veteran Outreach Busines Centers (VBOC)and through the SBA website. If you need capital you need to plan first and it takes hard work but you need to do it right. If you need resources go to our business resource center and pick your state. Good luck and I hope this helps.
I'm a disabled veteran that has given up on finding a job. I'm exhausted and need some help urgently. My last hope is to become self employed. I need your help please, starting a nonprofit bizness. I believe God put it in my heart to help veterans and needy familys by starting a virtual thrift store. I will name it world wide blessings. Help me get started please.
